Miniature Container Gardens

Hi all,

I made these miniature gardens about three weeks ago. These photos show you how the little gardens currently look. I used several ground covers: Scotch moss, creeping thyme, Blue Star, and rosemary for the "trees", and other small plants I found at the nursery shop. The containers are twelve inches wide and sufficiently deep for the project. When I planted them, there were not flowering yet...however, you can see the sweet tiny, tiny flowers blooming all over in the second photo.


About two weeks ago...

A pair of gnomes in this one; although you can only see one in the pic...I do need to re-paint them, the sun from last Summer fade them out...poor guys!


Can you see the ducks making their way across the bridge?

The rugs

Hi everyone...welcome!!!

Sorry I have been gone for so long but here I am with some little rugs to show you. They are all made and designed by me =)...some are needlepoint, hand painted, and punch needle (really easy). Enjoy!!

Thank you so much for taking precious time to visit my blog. I have to admit that I am not the best blogger in town since I don't post often...that chore called work keeps me pretty busy.

Any way, I will be posting new photos from my latest miniature adventures soon. Also, we have a challenge project (given by our miniature's club president),so I will try to present some pics to you as I inch along with this one.

Isabellas's playhouse

Back again with a new project, a small one. This is going to be a child's playhouse; the kind you would find in some backyards (when you have the space!). It is 1/12" scale, and the body is made out of gator board which is very sturdy and it will not warp. In the first photo, the whole house is held together with masking tape for "dry fit" purposes.



I used scrapbook paper for the wallpaper and found a pretty border for the top. Next, I used already made "hardwood" flooring and handpainted a design with rabbits and chicks...I think the chicks are a little hard to see in the photo. Any way, I am yet to polish the floor before I glue it into place. I am going to apply siding for outer walls,and dye some wood shingles for the roof. I have hand painted the ceiling in sky blue with clouds and some tiny birds flying here and there.



I will have more pictures of the latest progress...however, I appreciate your patient because I am slow at this blogging thing :) and I have too many mini projects going on.

Mini me

A while ago, I though that it would be fun to make a mini me of my dog...so here is the result of my first try at needle felting.

I enjoyed making Mini, and I think that I am going to make my cat next...keep tuned.

Prizes from NAME's National Convention in Seattle

This past July I went to my very first NAME National Convention...it was quite an experience. There is so much to do and plenty fun for everyone. I was very furtunate to win two roomboxes which were kindly donated from the collections of Jane M. and Barbara R. Both of the rooms were made and decorated by each one of them, respectively.

A quarter scale garden shed

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by. Today, I would like to share photos of my most recent completed project. It is a quarter scale garden shed, measuring 6.5 x 4.5 inches this little piece stands tall among my other larger scale houses. It was a joy to work with and I am happy with the results considering this was the first time I worked on this tiny scale.



To the side of the house you can see the attached green house which I made from a kit. The fence with gardening gloves is made from toothpicks, the bird feeder was made using metal findings and some white paint to give it a shabby look.



I need to add more gardening stuff, might be spread some dirt around...it looks a little too clean LOL... I'll get to that later.

A FANTASTIC SWAP

Aren't these little things great???...the lady's table, stationery set and sewing box will go into my Victorian dollhouse which I have named "Providencia". The stash of groceries will be a great addition to the pantry in my country dollshouse which is not near to be done yet!...I am working on it :)



Every thing is so cute...I am a very lucky person! and so are my "miniature" family :)

Second Prize Winner

Great news!!!...my little baby shop vignette won second place with the National Assoc. of Miniature Enthusiast's contest. Thank you to all my great friends from the Bluegrass Miniature Society for the outstanding support and encouragement. Yippe!!!

Christmas Vignette

A vignette measuring 9"W x 7"H x 5"D. This scene was made around the Christmas tree which was a challenge given to us by our Club's president. The challenge was to build a scene around the tree which is made of glass. I covered the tree with green turf used for miniature landscaping. The front of the box will be attached to a photo frame and later hang on a wall.

The cute kitty was a gift from my mother long time ago...I knew I would fine the perfect spot for it. The fire screen is hand-painted by Rosemarie Torre.

Finished Lamp

This little room is "the craft room"

As promised, here are some photos of my completed lamp. This lamp was a club project, made with picture frames for the actual room. Using a lamp kit and thanks to the ingenuity of my dear Joe who did the "wiring" for the room, I have a working lamp!!!

I am yet to add or I should say make the books that will go on the hutch's empty shelve :)

Victorian Dollhouse

And...here it is, my lovely Victorian dollhouse. This was my first dollhouse given to me by my honey, Joe.
It is made from a kit by Greenleaf ; however, I have been changing, altering, etc. many things with this house in order to suit my taste. Currently, I am getting ready to make the parquet floor for the library (upper far right room). For this, I will be using Mahogany, Cherry and Oak veneers...; I am eager to see the results! Later on, I'll start with the inside trim work.

This is a big house and so it is the work involved but it is all worth it! Thank you for looking at my biggest project, yet.

Club Project

Here I have some photos of my Miniature Club's project: A lamp made out of photo frames. It is made by gluing three frames, and attaching the fourth one with hinges so there is access to the mini scene. The frames used to be dark brown and I painted them white (about four coats + primer) ...and gave them a distressed look. The frame's openings are 5"x7"; however, you might use whatever size fits your taste.

My lamp is supposed to be the workshop room (1/12" scale). So far, I got most of the furniture done, and as you can see, I am using the much liked Shabby Chic look.
